AU Health updates policy for visitors at medical center, Children’s Hospital of Georgia

Written by Taylor Lamb

In an effort to continue to provide exceptional patient- and family-centered care, AU Health has updated its visitation policy for patients and families in the medical center and at Children’s Hospital of Georgia.

Two individuals may now visit a patient’s bedside, and those individuals may change out with others as long as the patient does not have COVID-19 or is not severely immunocompromised.

At Children’s, two individuals may visit a pediatric patient’s bedside and may now change out with two additional identified support persons, such as grandparents.

For now, support persons must be at least 18 or older. In rare circumstances, exceptions may be made with unit leadership or nursing supervisor.

All visitors must continue to wear masks or face coverings while in the facility.
