The buzz of clippers and few laughs filled the lobby of Children’s Hospital of Georgia Sept. 29 as 16 volunteers stepped up for the annual Brave the Shave fundraiser. Participants were asked to collect donations before settling into the barber’s chair, where three stylists from VOGUE Salon in Evans shaved their heads, one by one. The fundraiser, which had been on hiatus for two years due to the pandemic, raised $9,591.22 by midday Sept. 30.
Donors can still give while keeping their manes intact. Donations will be accepted throughout October through the Brave the Shave website.
