The Augusta University Health Outpatient Pharmacy will begin upgrading its pharmacy management software in May. This new system, PioneerRx, will streamline processes and allow the pharmacy to better serve patients while also allowing for flexibility in navigating insurance policies, healthcare laws, etc.

Please be aware that some locations will close early while systems are installed. This will include the transfer of data, equipment upgrades and employee training.

On May 8, the pharmacy on the second floor of the Children’s Hospital of  Georgia will close at 6 p.m. It will reopen at 9 a.m. May 9, one hour later than usual.

Other early closings include the Moore Avenue Pharmacy, which will close at 4 p.m. May 8, and the Employee Pharmacy in Professional Building 1, which will close at 5 p.m. May 15.

There may be minor delays in the prescription process during this time as employees in each location adapt to the changes. The pharmacies will have additional staffing to help minimize these delays.
