Supporters will once again help make the holidays a little better for patients and their families at the not-for-profit Children’s Hospital of Georgia. The 23rd Annual iHeart Media Cares for Kids Radiothon will be held Dec. 7-9 to raise money for Children’s Hospital of Georgia, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

Radiothon is jointly presented by iHeart Media and WRDW-TV News 12 NBC 26. Stations 96.3 Kiss FM, WBBQ 104.3, and 105.7 The Bull will broadcast live from the Children’s Hospital lobby, while teams of volunteers from Children’s Hospital, Wellstar MCG Health and the community take pledges and gifts by phone.

Listeners will hear just a few of the miracle stories that happen at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia every single day.

For example, Kyson was airlifted to Children’s Hospital of Georgia, where he was put on life support and spent five months undergoing several surgeries and ECMO care.

Cooper was born at 28 weeks with Down syndrome and spent his first 372 days of life at Children’s.

Nora, who was diagnosed with the very rare Coffin-Siris Syndrome at 9 months old, is a frequent patient under the care of pediatric experts at Children’s Hospital of Georgia.

Webb, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor at just 7 months old with a brain tumor, was treated for a stroke and underwent emergency brain surgery at Children’s.

Each of these miraculous children are in various stages of recovery, and represent the compassionate, multidisciplinary care they can only receive at Children’s Hospital of Georgia.

Your donations help support the world-class care Children’s provides patients to like these and thousands of others and their families.

Radiothon is sponsored by Georgia’s Own Credit Union with additional support from SRP Federal Credit Union, Wright ONE, Windsor Fine Jewelers and ESM Productions.

Immediately following the event, which concludes at 1 p.m. Saturday, a check will be presented to the Children’s Hospital of Georgia for the total amount raised.

Last year’s event raised more than $260,000, which was used to purchase items like a Bili Blanket for the Neonatal ICU, which treats jaundice while allowing parents to hold their babies, and a Zaky HUG, which mimics a parent’s touch when they can’t be at the hospital with their newborn.

Pledges can be made during Radiothon and year-round by calling 706-721-4004 or through the Cares for Kids Radiothon website.
