Written by Taylor Lamb

In an effort to encourage COVID-19 vaccination in Augusta’s underserved and minority communities, Augusta University Health is set to open a second pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic in South Augusta at Diamond Lakes Regional Park in Hephzibah, Georgia.

The vaccination program will kick off at 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 26, with a press conference featuring Augusta University Health CEO Katrina Keefer, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Phillip Coule and local community leaders.

Individuals can check state eligibility requirements at augustahealth.org/vaccine prior to registration and all registrations must be completed in advance on the AU Health website. Walk-up and phone appointments are not available.

AU Health has vaccinated more than 65,000 individuals with both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, with 38% of those being minorities, having Augusta lead the state in minority vaccination.
