The Revenue Integrity team held its third annual Revenue Integrity Week June 7-11.
The Revenue Integrity team connects the clinical and revenue cycle areas through communication and collaboration to identify revenue and process improvement opportunities, said director Vrinda Kosgi.
The team is comprised of employees with a wide range of skill sets from registered nurses, coders and charge master coordinators to spreadsheet junkies and data analysts. Together as a team, they apply their education, knowledge, backgrounds and skills to identify revenue leakage due to missing charge capture, manual workflows, process breakdowns, denials, etc.
“The team collaborates with clinical, financial, revenue cycle and IT to help track and resolve issues, maintain revenue integrity, support patient clinical care areas and contribute to the overall wellbeing and financial success of the organization,” Kosgi said.
Dr. Brandy Gunsolus, a manager in the Pathology Department, said the team is “super supportive in helping identify billing issues, finding long-term fixes for them and implementing the fixes.”
Revenue Integrity Week included a variety of events and activities for the team, including a continental breakfast, games with prizes, a luncheon, an ice cream social and peer recognition.
