Carla Allen has recently been appointed Administrator for Heart and Cardiovascular Services.
In her new role, Allen will oversee the Adult Cath Lab, Adult Echo Lab, Adult EKG Lab, 8 West CIU, Cardiovascular ICU, Cardiology Practice Site, Cardiac Rehab, Chafee and 15th Street Cardiovascular Centers, 6 North and Telemetry Suite.

Allen received her BSN from the Medical College of Georgia and her MSN from Western Governors University. She has served in various roles at Augusta University Medical Center for 18 years, most recently as the 7 West, 7 Labor and Delivery and OB ED Nurse Manager.
She also serves on the AU Health Perinatal Community Outreach Campaign, the Nurse Manager Lunch and Learn Team, the Georgia Perinatal Quality Collaborative, the Joint Commission Readiness Committee and the Clinical Ladder and Peer Review Council. She serves as the state chair for the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses and is a member of Safe Kids Greater Augusta.
Allen has demonstrated experience in leadership and managing complex units, which will help serve patients who choose AU Health for their care.
