Wellstar MCG Health celebrates its top-rated physicians

Wellstar MCG Health held a celebratory breakfast for its all-star providers who achieved a 4.9-star or 5-star rating from patient survey ratings.

Of the star performers at the Aug. 29 event, 63 earned 4.9 stars, while nine received 5-stars. Ninety-five percent of the hospital system’s physicians and advanced practice providers earned a a 4.5-star rating or above.

Dr. David Hess, Dean of the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Phillip Coule, Chief Medical Officer, Nancy Brady, AUMA COO, Mark Schreiber, Chief Nursing Officer and Dr. Will Cagle, Chief Patient Safety Officer, were on hand to congratulate the top performers.

PFCC Nurse Champions, a select group of nurses committed to strengthening the practice of patient and family-centered care, also attended the event, as did patient and family advisors, who donned aprons and served breakfast to the honorees.

Patient experience is important because more than 83% of patients search online to find a physician, and 70% of patients say online ratings influence their healthcare decisions.

Dr. Coule spoke at the event, noting that the hospital saw a 4-point score increase based on the patient experience surveys. He challenged the all star providers to continue to “shoot for the stars.”
